đźź  Your 4-step guide to winning

The Level

In This Issue:

Success in chutes + ladders (and business) is simply these four things, over and over.

Hey Reader,

The last few weeks of the newsletter have been building up to this.

You win at your unique business game when you know:

  1. Where you are now
  2. Where you are going
  3. What’s keeping you from getting where you want to go(chutes)
  4. What you can use to your advantage to move forward(ladders)

đź‘€ Mastering these four steps, over and over, is how all business works.

I want to help you identify the chutes + create as many ladders in your business as possible. After all… my team and I are literally in the business of leveling people [like you!] up.

You can:

  • respond to being thrown forcefully down a chute
  • clarify those compelling reasons to keep playing the game
  • get right back in after falling several levels

Business is full of small and large failures alike. We have all wanted to throw in the towel at some point and chuck our game piece across the room.

But practicing these four steps over and over—in this infinite game of business—gives you the purpose and power you need to keep going.

And you’ll need more than willpower alone. As Simon Sinek popularized over the last decade, you must know your “why” — the topic of a future newsletter 🧡

🤔 How about you?

So which of the four steps is most challenging for you right now? How can we support?

It was great corresponding with some of you last week, I value your questions, thoughts and feedback.

Keep them coming, I always personally reply.

Have a wonderful day!

- Amanda

đź’Ą Check out the win after Joe identified a chute:

“I work for a huge digital marketing company that does some pretty cutting edge marketing stuff. Deep down I wondered, what could I learn and actually use from a 45 minute intro chat [with LUC]…

AND I couldn’t have been more wrong. Within 20 minutes, I was able to cut to the core of the main problem I currently face, which is 100% holding us back, and I’ve actually had trouble verbalizing.

Then I walked away with an actionable solution that makes complete sense and is probably the best next step forward. Not some hypothetical BS solution. A real answer to a real problem I’ve been struggling with for months, maybe longer.

I would say this was one of the most impactful business conversations I’ve had in the past decade.

Thank you.”

Thank you for allowing us this little slice of real estate in your inbox. Please know that we don’t ever take it for granted and aim to provide as much value as we can in bite-size nuggets every single week.

We all have to have an extraordinarily compelling reasons to keep playing the game. Without that reason, your willpower and motivation will dry up at some point. I promise you.

To play the infinite game, you have to find tremendous purpose and meaning in your work. As Simon Sinek has popularized over the last decade, you must know your “why”.

P.S. A word of completely unsolicited wisdom: when you play the infinite game and inevitably end up making a big time (however you define that), don’t ever forget to help create ladders for other people behind you in the game.

One of our business (and my family’s) values is “pull others up the ladder.” If you are in a position of privilege in life and or in business, I hope you feel a tremendous sense of responsibility to bring others along with you.

No one makes it completely on their own, so go be that ladder for someone who needs it 🔥

I want to personally invite any and all feedback, including constructive criticism, you have. Just reply –

Nothing will reveal your true character than how you respond to being thrown forcefully down a chute.

And nothing will build your confidence more than getting right back into the game after falling back several levels.

The sheer force of our will only goes so far, even those who are most stubbornly inclined, present company included.

And getting back on the game board is freaking exhausting after a while.

Everything goes straight to my inbox, and I still reply personally to all of my emails.

And knowing your “why” is stronger than willpower alone. And that will be the topic of a future week’s newsletter 💛
